For 33 years I was a journalist, covering religion for secular newspapers. I wrote about all faith traditions, but developed a specialty in Catholicism that included covering most USCCB general assemblies since 1988 and two papal elections. In 2013 I became communications director for the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, where I continue part-time as senior writer and creative strategist.
